Dear ESMAC Members, Colleagues and Friends,

On behalf of the organising committee of the annual meeting of the European Society for Movement Analysis in Adults and Children (ESMAC), we would like to welcome you all to Dublin from September 19th to 24th , 2022. The organising committee are excited to be able to host the ESMAC conference in one of Dublin’s most famous venues, Croke Park, and are planning an exciting scientific programme consisting of many oral and poster sessions, including excellent keynote speakers. Prof. Brian Caulfield, Prof. Friedl De Groote and Prof. Jim Usherwood will all present on a diverse range of professional experience. The esteemed Baumann lecture, in memory of the late Prof. Baumann, will be presented by Jean Stout from Gillette Children’s Speciality Healthcare. There will be the ESMAC Gait Course in the days prior to the congress, guided by our experienced gait analysts, while pre-congress seminars will be scheduled ranging from topics such as musculoskeletal modelling to surgical intervention. After what has been a challenging two years, it is hoped that we will all be able to gather in person once again to meet up with old friends and discuss and share new developments and research related to our field. The organising committee are aware of the various concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic and will remain responsive to on-going public health advice and travel restrictions. Call for expression of interest to host a pre-conference seminar for ESMAC 2022 in Dublin:

The scientific committee for ESMAC 2022 are calling for expressions of interest from members interested in running a pre-conference seminar as part of the ESMAC annual meeting.

ESMAC 2022 is scheduled to be held between the 19th and 24th September 2022 in Dublin, Ireland. A number of half-day pre-conference seminars are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday of that week. Each seminar normally takes 3.5 hours. The organisers are reserving one seminar slot for members applications so that we can capture the breadth of interest and enthusiasm in the society.

Potential topics should be relevant to the field of movement analysis and fall within the scope of the society (i.e. a local specialisation or scientific or clinical issue that may be of interest to the wider ESMAC community).

Interested parties are invited to submit an outline of their proposed seminar to Damien Kiernan (). The proposal should not exceed 1 page (A4) and should describe the main theme and topics covered, along with the name of the lead organiser and key contributors. Multicentre collaborations are welcome. Applications would be particularly welcome on or before Monday 17^th January 2022.
